Elder John Quarles, is originally from Halifax, Virginia. He is married to Mother Alvinia Quarles. The couple has 3 wonderful sons, John, Marcus and Shaughn. Elder Quarles arrived in Fairbank s in 1996 via military assignment. In 2002, he retired as Chief Warrant Officer Three, after twenty-five years of service. Elder Quarles was instrumental in starting what was then Greater New Hope Baptist Church. In 1998, under the leadership of Pastor Otis McCormick, the church became Greater New Hope Church of God in Christ. Elder Quarles has served Greater New Hope in various positions including Assistant and Associate Pastor.

He currently serves the Northern District COGIC as President of the Evangelist Department, and Director of Public Relations. He serves as Assistant President for the Alaska COGIC Home and Foreign Missions Department. He has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems from Saint Leo University and is presently pursuing a Master’s of Business Administration Degree with an emphasizes in Information Security Management from Saint Leo University. Elder Quarles enjoys teaching God’s word, reading, traveling, researching religious history, and fellowshipping with the saints of God.
